So I hit the sales yesterday, and unsurprisingly I only came home with one item that was actually discounted (most of the shops looked like they had been hit hard by Boxing Day shoppers, and I think I missed out!)
With the distinct lack of bargains around I decided to visit MAC. As I don't have one locally to me so it's always a bit of a novelty. I actually only owned one item from MAC, but I've been dying to add to my kit. As I've previously mentioned, my ambition is to become a make up artist, specifically focussing on bridal - I can't think of any thing better than helping a bride-to-be to look amazing on their big day.
MAC have a beautiful range of eyeshadow shades, and accessories. For make up kits (professional or individual use) they have a really useful palette in which you can store pan form products. I hear this is the newly redesigned palette, so here are my thoughts:
Palette £14 / Insert £6.50 Find these at MAC |
The main downside of this product I have is that once you have the insert in place, the shadows are rather tricky to remove. If anyone has advise on this I'd greatly appreciate it! Nevertheless, the case itself is very sturdy and I feel that my eyeshadows are in safe hands!
Does any one have any suggestions of shadows they think are must haves? I bought Sable and Satin Taupe to get me started.
xo
Go for Mac Vex and Patina, my favorites<3 And I love my Sable and Satin taupe.

Thanks for the suggestions! Will definitely be checking these out... oh my it's so easy to get carried away :) xo
DeleteAlways Urban Decay shadows for me, they are brilliant. Other than that I think all eye shadows are great aslong as you have the right base, if you haven't already you should defiantly try Urban Decays eye shadow primer.

Didn't think to try Urban Decay - I love their Naked palettes, so will definitely be checking out what else they have on offer :) Thanks!! AND I definitely need to purchase their primer potion xo
DeleteI love Naked Lunch and Woodwinked :) x
ReplyDeleteGreat suggestions! Think I'm going to make a lovely little wish list thanks to you ladies :) x
DeleteGreat review of the palette. I don't own any MAC shadows so can't help you much. But if your in the market for other brands, I suggest Uran Decays Naked Palettes... amazing!

Thanks Cat :) I love the Naked 2 palette, but I've been reading reviews on the first one and it's got some really beautiful shades too! Might need to treat myself! xo
DeleteI've been after a pro palette for ages but I cannot get my hands on one for some reason! MAC is a dangerous brand, so addictive. They have some gorgeous eyeshadows, I think I'm up to 15 or 20 now...I had 2 at the beginning of the year. They are amazing though! Loving your blog x

Hey chick, great post! I need one of these palettes! I have so many individual ones, that it makes sense just to keep them in one place. I noticed you want to get into bridal make-up. I have scheduled a wedding kit post, with my go to products I use when doing brides! I will keep you posted when it goes up so you can have a look. xxx
ReplyDeleteHey Zoe! That would be so great if you could let me know when that post goes up, sounds perfect and just what I'd love to read about! If you don't mind me asking, how did you become a make up artist? Since finishing uni I've fallen into a career in marketing, but I love the creativity of make up. It's so hard whilst working full time though, but I've booked myself on to a day course, which has several assignments and exams to follow - I'm hoping this will give things a kick start for me. xox
DeleteHoney lust is a lovely colour, pale bronze with a nice shimmer.
